The story

In March 1948, the story goes, a saucer came down in Hart Canyon near Aztec, New Mexico. It first spread through a 1950 book and was written off for decades after the book's sources were discredited. Scott and Suzanne Ramsey spent decades tracing witnesses and records, and their 2012 book, The Aztec Incident: Recovery at Hart Canyon, argues a craft really was recovered there.

The print on this shirt is the FBI's own scan of a memo dated March 22, 1950, flipped to white ink so every speck from the scanner shows. It passes along a secondhand tip about three saucers recovered in New Mexico, and it's the most viewed page in the FBI's public records vault. The memo never names Aztec, and the FBI says it never investigated the claim.
